1. Thousands of pedestrians are injured and killed every year at night because...

The driver couldn’t see them in time to avoid hitting them. Pedestrians need to have enough good quality reflective material on their front, back and both sides for drivers to see and recognize that shiny reflective spot on the road ahead is a human form AND have enough time and distance to slow down and change course to avoid hitting this pedestrian. Tiny strips of reflective trim don’t give a driver enough advance warning and time to slow down or take evasive action. Don’t become a statistic.

 2. Pedestrians don’t stand a chance – they never win in a collision with a vehicle!

Many pedestrian injuries involve Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) as a result of their head hitting the vehicle's windshield, hood or ground. Many TBI victims never regain the ability to care for themselves, live independently, or continue their education or careers. Hopes and dreams are shattered, broken bones and chronic pain change family relationships forever. Drivers and their families also suffer the effects of PTSD, license and insurance loss needed for employment - simply because they didn’t see the pedestrian and have the opportunity to avoid the collision.

​You’d love to take a walk - catch up with a friend, lose a few pounds, de-stress and maybe even sleep better but by the time you get home it’s dark, too late for a walk. Cars zip by so fast - too risky - so you wait for another day and feel like you’ve failed again.

  4. Then there’s the dog...your faithful companion who has waited patiently, all day, for you to get home for supper and a walk!

Yes! A good quality reflective safety vest worn with arm and leg bands to show biomotion is definitely the best choice. Are you ever going to wear it? To work? To run down to the corner store? To walk with a friend? Most people don’t and won’t. Would you wear it every time you walk outside or would you have to make a special effort to remember to get ready to go out in the dark?
